NY – After Mets’ owner Steve Cohen went on a little tirade on Saturday at Amazin’ Day, Cohen has re-engaged with the Alonso camp (per Heyman).
This should not surprise anybody. Now, we don’t know what is being said, but the Mets did just bring back Ryne Stanek and SNY’s Andy Martino notes that this could open the door for an Alonso reunion.
Now, as I was writing this article, Jon Heyman appeared on his weekly livestream on Bleacher Report, saying that it’s “a 50/50 shot” that Alonso returns to the Mets.
This should be good news for Mets fans. It seems like there is more of a chance that Alonso returns because new dialogue and deals have been made around signing Alonso, but there is no deal done or on the horizon.
